Holiday Happenings!

Dearest Readers, I know I've been remiss. I've thrown you to the wolves for Thanksgiving, and have left you hanging for the rest of the holidays. But Catalina is back, and she is here to help.

Thanksgiving was a stately, if hectic, affair. Mother Vel-DuRay and Sister-woman arrived on Monday, and it was a constant social whirl! Lunch at the Salish on Tuesday, Dinner at Alki on Wednesday, and of course the big feast on Thursday.

The meal itself was traditional, as Thanksgiving should be: Turkey, Dressing, Mashed Potatoes were the core. The Greek bought her special potato salad and a green bean dish that was really quite good. Afterwards, the Professor bought the offspring over, and they and the dogs had a lovely, if a bit loud, time.

Here's a pic of Mother Vel-DuRay (who has got all her hair back, and is looking lovely, all things considered) showing off the new ovens and cooktop:

And here's the "Festive Board":

Right now, I'm absolutely FRANTIC getting the house decorated for the holidays, but expect some hints and tips to be forthcoming ASAP.

The transformation is complete....

Here are the shots of the new den. While not exactly my taste, I think it turned out quite well, and shows that a person of taste and distinction can work outside their genre, so to speak.

The Colonel loves it of course, and that's what matters.
