The Good Taste Chronicles

Stemming the tide of vulgarity in the general public.

Well, Thanksgiving is over, and now we can look forward to Christmas. As usual, I will be returning to the Old Country (i.e. Iowa) via Amtrak, with an intermidary stop in Chicago for some Xmas shopping and holiday drinking. After Christmas, it's back to Chicago and then down to LA/San Diego (I haven't decided which one yet) for New Years Eve.

In the meantime, there's decorating to do. The living room still isn't painted, so I'm loathe to do much to it, but it ain't gonna get painted before the holidays, so we might as well haul out the holly.

I'm thinking the Turquoise aluminum tree this year. I would love to find some Orange christmas balls, but for some reason, they don't seem to make them. If I were the crafty type, I'd get some of those styrofoam christmas balls and paint them, but that would involve a trip to either a fabric store (which always makes me itchy) or the craft store down by Southcenter Mall, and I'd sooner stick my head in the oven than go to Southcenter. It's one of the trashiest places in Seattle (the only trashier place is the Renton Wal-Mart)

Speaking of Wal-Mart, did you hear about the riots? There was a mini-riot here in Renton, but there was a mega-riot at a Wal-Mart down in the south somewhere (Generally speaking, whenever anything trashy happens, it's down south) This is just another reason for you, dear reader, to avoid Wal-Marts. They are only for trashy people, and you certainly aren't one of them, are you?

Unfortunately, both the Colenel and the Greek tend to gravitate towards Wal-Marts from time to time. To combat this, I am going to purchase a copy of one of those anti Wal-Mart movies and tie them to chairs, ala "A Clockwork Orange" and play it over and over until they agree never to set foot in one again. Once that is done, I will cure cancer, and bring about world peace.

Long Time No See.....

Just a note to let you know I'm still alive. Bought a new house! Pictures are on the website.

What else? I've become addicted to Air America Radio, which is excellent! They are kicking that scummy Bush to the CURB!

Getting ready for Thanksgiving. This year we have a very traditional and simple menu. Nothing chancy, nothing flashy, but it should be good. Can't WAIT for the long weekend.
